Core Power – New Fastpitch Talk Radio Episode

Most softball players, coaches, and parents agree that the “core” is an important part of a softball players performance. In this week’s Fastpitch Talk Radio episode, I’m talking with Barry Lovelace who is also know as the King of Core.”

Find out how functional training, and core exercises can increase your power and speed for softball. I’ve tried some of these exercises and the great thing about them, in addition to all the great softball and health benefits, is that it’s FUN! I love being able to help players improve their game and have fun at the same time and this is one way to do it.

Learn more about functional training and where you can check out some free sample exercises, by listening in to this week’s episode of Fastpitch Talk Radio. “See” you there!

Fastpitch Talk Radio & Fundraising

Hey, just dropping in to let you know that I just put up a new episode of Fastpitch Talk Radio. This episode is about reducing parent conflict and about how to reduce your stress during the season by preparing better.

Listen in, it’s free! Just go to www.FastpitchTalkRadio.com.

Now, on to fundraising…

There has been quite a bit of talk about fundraising recently. You may even be looking for some cool fundraising ideas. Sooooo, I have 2 fundraising ideas for you.

1. Raffle off gas cards
Pretty self eplanatory: buy gas cards and raffle them off. I’d probably stick with $50 cards.

2. Do a Dessert Tasting
This weekend I was at a “end of the season” potluck and there were some delicious desserts! I thought it would be cool to do a “dessert tasting” fundraiser. Now, keep in mind, I’ve never done one before, but I think it would be soooooo cool. Have families make their favorite desserts (or see if you can have local bakeries or stores donate a dessert or two) and have a dessert tasting or dessert buffet fundraiser. I’m sure you could charge a flat rate at the door for “all you can eat” OR charge per dessert tasted/eaten. Be creative and think of ways to make it fun and enjoyable for everyone. I’m sorry, but I just loooooove good old sweet tasting desserts! I know I’d certainly make it a point to attend a dessert fundraiser. If you need some easy dessert recipes for ideas, check out www.MyEasyDessertRecipes.com. It’s a project my daughter is working on and she’s about to post some VERY simple fruit dessert ideas later this week.

Coming Up Next Week…

Fastpitch Talk Radio – New Episode Ready

Yes, it’s been quite a while, but there is finally a new episode up for Fastpitch Talk Radio. In this episode you’ll hear a commonly asked pitching question (sent in by one of our listeners) and what my answer to that question is. Plus, find out what message this year’s Women’s College World Series reminded me of.

Go listen to the audio at www.FastpitchTalkRadio.com. See you there!

Should young pitchers pitch every day?

This is a very common question that gets asked quite a bit. This question is the focus of the new Fastpitch Talk Radio show that will be ready on Monday, March 26, 2007. Here my opinion as well as the opinion of 4 other softball experts. Simply go to FastpitchTalkRadio.com and click on the Listen Now button for Episode 12!

Upcoming Interview

Some of you have received my e-mail about the upcoming interview I’m going to do with my daughter for Fastpitch Talk Radio. I’ve gotten a lot of great questions to ask her and will still take more ’till the end of the day today. Just send me an e-mail with your question for the interview. We’ve actually received quite a few already, but the more the merrier.

I think it’s going to be a lot of fun and I got a small preview of some answers. Some were surprising, and all interesting. You see, before I interview people, I usually give them a heads up on some of the questions so that they can think of some good, intelligent, thought out answers and really make sure they answer the question as completely as they’d like. Well, I did the same thing for my daughter. Some of the questions that were sent in were thought provoking and I wanted her to give them some thought and really be able to tell us how she feels.

Tonight, I had her write the questions down so that she could review them before we actually do the interview. Some of them she already had a bit of an answer for. There were a few that I didn’t think she’d really know how to answer, but those were the ones she immediately had thoughts on and responses for. So, like I said, I was it was interesting and that was just a taste of what the full interview will be like.

The full interview should be up at Fastpitch Talk Radio on Monday. I’ll let you know for sure when it’s up and ready to listen to. Don’t forget, you still have time to ask questions. Remember, she’s only 10.
